The Gippsland New Energy Conference 23 (GNEC23) was Australia’s largest regional-led New Energy Conference. Hosted in Sale at The Wedge and Port precinct, in Wellington Shire, on Gunaikurnai Country.

The Gippsland New Energy Conference 2023 featuring over 500 participants, a youth event with 400 student attendees and a community day took place in Sale from Wednesday August 30th to Saturday September 2nd.

The conference was a premier event in the field of sustainable energy, bringing together industry leaders, experts, community ambassadors and enthusiasts to discuss and explore the latest advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the realm of renewable energy. The conference was very successful with over 90% of participants from around the Gippsland, Victoria and international visitors suggesting it met or exceeded their expectations.

With a focus on Gippsland the conference was a platform to showcase the region’s achievements and discuss strategies for further growth. Many community members were invited, and several participants commented the Gippsland Conference was the best they had been too as it was more than “suits talking to suits”.
