As the new Chair of GCCN, I’m delighted to introduce myself to our members and partners. I live in Marlo with a background in executive leadership across the transport sector and experience contributing to regional startups, I am deeply committed to fostering resilient regional enterprises and supporting innovative ventures that deliver real value to our communities. I’m particularly passionate about renewable energy and the role Gippsland can play as a leader in the transition to a sustainable future.

The last quarter has been a period of great activity and achievement for GCCN the Summer eNews 24 covers a few.

  • Introducing the New GCCN Board
  • Standing Together Against Nuclear Power – GCCN co-sponsored the Rally Against Nuclear on December 3rd in Traralgon along with Environment Victoria, amplifying the strong local opposition to nuclear energy in Gippsland. On the same day, we were invited to speak to the Federal Government Parliamentary Inquiry where we reinforced our stance outlined in our formal submission: nuclear power is not a viable option for Gippsland.
  • Gippsland Circular Futures Innovation Completed – The GCFI program aimed to help local enterprises become more circular and sustainable and was a resounding success, 54 businesses registering to participate. Diverse industries attended, from farming to hospitality to retail, and all at various stages of circularity, from those just starting out to those already implementing circular strategies in their business.
  • New Resource Hub: Understanding Transmission Projects – GCCN joined forces with The Energy Charter and collaboration partners to create a variety information factsheet accessible from the ‘Understanding Australian Energy Transmission Projects Resource Hub’ 
  • The Gippsland New Energy Portal has up to date news and information on projects and engagement opportunities.
