Welcome to the GCCN eNews Spring edition 2025
As we close out another remarkable chapter for the Gippsland Climate Change Network, it’s wonderful to reflect on the success of GNEC25, where more than 1,000 delegates came together to explore the opportunities of Gippsland’s clean-energy transition. The energy in the room — from local innovators to international visitors — was inspiring and reaffirmed just how far we’ve come as a region leading in renewables.
Alongside the conference, we are revisiting our Circular Economy projects with training from Federation University making a real impact for local businesses, helping to create smarter, more sustainable pathways for production and reuse right here in Gippsland.
The groundbreaking Gippsland Coastal Assembly also took an important step forward, giving voice to coastal communities and setting out a clear vision for how offshore wind can deliver benefits for our families, our coastline, and our future.
Looking ahead, planning is already underway for the Wellington Sustainability Festival in March next year — a celebration of local action, innovation, and creativity in sustainability.
Finally, our membership is currently engaged in an important discussion about the governance of GCCN — exploring how we can ensure a stable, skilled, and representative board while continuing to act as an open network for community-led climate action.
Together, we’re shaping a stronger, fairer, and more sustainable Gippsland. Thank you for being part of this journey.
