We invite you to read the Gippsland Climate Change Network Inc. Annual Report 2023-4.
The report outlines the years achievements, our sound financial status, and ongoing initiatives related to climate action. It highlights the dedication of the volunteer board, staff, and partners, in driving these initiatives and expresses optimism for future sustainable development and the orderly and fair transition to renewable energy in Gippsland. Some of the highlights reflected in the Annual Report are:
o The Gippsland New Energy Conference (GNEC24) a major success with significant Australian and global recognition and a positive economic impact locally.
o The Gippsland Offshore Wind Alliance (GOWA). Launched at GNEC24 to unify and co-ordinate regional support for the offshore wind industry.
o The Energise Gippsland initiative, including the AGL EV chargers and community solar projects.
o An overview of the AusNet ElectriFAIRcation Project in Morwell.
o Our community outreach and engagement efforts and expansion of our partnerships in our commitment to spread the word that the renewable transformation will be of net benefit to Gippsland and a continued commitment to community engagement around climate action.
o And the Financial report clearly demonstrates that GCCN is in a good financial position with a surplus and strong cash reserve.
Looking to the future
o We will continue to build on the successes of 2024.
o We will continue to strengthen partnerships with local communities, businesses, and government organizations.
o Once again, I express our deep appreciation to all partners, volunteers, and staff for their support, dedication and outstanding achievements over the year.
