Gippsland Climate Change Network 2025 Annual Report Released
The last annual report for GCCN as an Incorporated Association as GCCN moves to a Company Limited by Guarantee
The recent GCCN Annual General Meeting held on the 16th of February 2026, showcased a pivotal year for the organisation, marked by a shift in governance to a company limited by guarantee. This change reflects GCCN’s evolution from its volunteer roots to a more mature and professional structure, strengthening its capacity to deliver and grow. The Chair Stephen Angus opened the meeting by highlighting these achievements and the organisation’s robust financial standing, while also noting the need for careful financial stewardship in light of reduced government funding.
Special recognition was given to outgoing board members Alison Taylor, Chris Barfoot, and Tony Wolfe, whose dedicated service has shaped GCCN’s direction and success. Their contributions underscore the commitment and passion driving the organisation forward.
The CEO’s Report, delivered by Darren McCubbin, detailed a year filled with activity and collaboration. GCCN expanded its partnerships with business, universities, TAFE, and local councils. The organisation’s engagement with national and international renewable energy projects via the highly successful Gippsland New Energy Conference is unique, as well as practical initiatives and community engagement, highlighted GCCN’s leadership in sustainability and innovation.
Community engagement was a cornerstone of the year, with initiatives like the Gippsland Coastal Assembly, delivered in partnership with Democracy Co, fostering meaningful dialogue and participation. GCCN’s active presence on advisory panels and in community forums demonstrates its ongoing commitment to inclusive, community-driven progress. In the spirit of community engagement, the GCCN Members are encouraged to continue their commitment by becoming “Friends of GCCN.”
The AGM and Annual Report capture the spirit of growth and resilience that defines GCCN, setting a strong foundation for future achievements and continued impact across Gippsland and beyond.
