Bright Sparks was supported by the AusNet Energy Education and Literacy Grants Funding for education, awareness and energy literacy programs to help build and strengthen community energy resilience and help communities prepare for and recover after a severe weather event or outage.

Bright Sparks is multi-agency immersive event for year 7-9 students from regional and remote schools in East Gippsland and focused on energy literacy. Key themes include energy in the home, emergency energy preparedness, Gippsland’s changing energy industries, our changing climate and environmental anxiety and resilience. The aim is to provide fun activities, support important learning in a safe space, and enrich curriculum opportunities at the GLaWAC and Forest Tech facilities.

Approx. 100 students from across East Gippsland including; Mallacoota, Cann River, Swift Creek, Lakes Entrance, Nagle Collage.
